Using the Four Immeasurables

Hosted on Zoom by
The Nalanda Institute
Center for Buddhist Study and Meditation
Olympia, Washington

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this retreat will be a one day virtual retreat

Our founding teacher, Loppon Jamyang Tsultrim, will lead this meditation skills retreat and provide instruction suitable for all levels of experience.  Beginners will learn through direct experience, and experienced meditators will be able to refresh or sharpen their practice.  All meditation practitioners are encouraged to attend.

This program will provide foundational skills to support any level of meditation practice.  There will be time for questions to address any obstacles or difficulties you encounter.  You will learn how to recognize your meditation is working, to identify obstacles and develop interventions, and prepare for the next levels of your practice.

We will cover the four (Wholesome) immeasurable practices, four applications of mindfulness, Calm Abiding (Shamatha), Insight meditation (Vipassana), and dedication aspiration.  The format will include theory or rationale, actual practices, and application or integrating calming and flexible qualities into daily life.

In advance of the retreat, please be sure you have the capability of connecting and signing into a Zoom meeting.  We aim to start right at 9am, but you are invited to sign in up to 15 minutes early to greet others and verify your connection.
